I’m baaaaaack.
yes, last night I ventured into my first hot yoga class since I found out I was pregnant. other than light walking this was my first workout since Sloane was born – 7.5 weeks ago. I must admit I was a little nervous and had butterflies in my stomach when I entered the class. I am sooooo happy to report that I didn’t fall over and I can still walk this morning. that in itself is a small {who am I kidding, HUGE} victory!
I felt there was a lot of anticipation heading into the class. the hubs + I dropped Sloane off at her granny + grandpa’s and headed to the studio. I was warned by some mama friends to ease into my workouts and not to be too tough on myself. I tried my best not to overdo it and it was an absolute success. the stretching, balancing and ridiculous sweating felt AHHHHHHH-MAZING.
I am so excited to get back to working out, not only to get my body back in shape but for all the other amazing benefits that movement has for my overall health. I know it will take some time to get back to where I was pre-pregnancy but I am up for the challenge!
in yesterday’s blog post I promised I would include the recipe for some raw choco-amaze-balls that I whipped up on sunday, so here it is…
I grabbed one of these pre and post yoga for a protein boost and they are delish – but you are going to have to try them out for yourself
all you have to do is assemble the following ingredients in a small size bowl until well combined. roll up your sleeves and get a little dirty by taking a teaspoon amount in your hand and rolling them into a small ball. cover + place in the fridge until you are ready to eat them.
the ingredients for these raw choco-amaze-balls are ….
- almond butter
- chia seeds
- hemp seeds
- unsweetened coconut (in the balls + also sprinkled on top)
- vega chocolate protein powder
- raw cacao nibs
- tart dried cherries
- cinnamon
- maple syrup (to sweeten)
note: amounts will vary based on how many amaze-balls you want to make – so play around with it.
and incase you missed it before, here are a couple more amaze-ball recipes.
these are the perfect snack made from whole food ingredients that will give you the boost that your body is craving – and they are delish!

Is there somewhere in Stratford to take hot yoga or do you drive to a larger city?
@Veronica – there is a great Moksha Yoga studio in Stratford. Here is the link to their website
