good afternoon lovelies!
I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. I am busy with Miss S who is now 7 weeks old (crazy!). we are very much still in the summer of weddings and this weekend included a bachelorette getaway for a very special girlfriend. we can’t wait to celebrate her wedding in a few weeks time!
this was Sloane’s first girls weekend (post-womb of course) and she was the life of the party
we spent the weekend at a cottage on lake huron and it was GORGEOUS.
enjoying the sunset with some gorgeous women.
lots of smiles while enjoying morning snuggles with her honorary aunties.
the weekend was wonderfully relaxing but when we got home on sunday there was lots to do. this included a lot of laundry, unpacking and prepping for the upcoming week.
having a newborn I now understand the importance of efficient use of time! to ensure that the hubs and I are eating healthy throughout the week, meal prep has been especially important over the last few weeks. it’s not quite as easy to run into town and grab groceries or take any amount of time to make our meals. this means taking the time to plan our meals out in advance, get the groceries and prep as much as I can on sunday’s to make it easy to assemble meals during the week.
here are a couple of things I prepped on sunday….
quinoa + chickpea salad. raw energy amaze-balls.
here are a couple of ways we have already enjoyed the quinoa salad this week.
last nights dinner was enjoyed outdoors. quinoa salad on a heaping bed of greens with a piece of organic chicken breast. I seasoned the chicken breast with cumin, curry powder, black pepper + cayenne pepper. YUM!
and for lunch today I had a bowl of quinoa salad and topped it off with some sunflower seeds accompanied by a lovely toasted sprouted grain english muffin with hummus + cucumber.
side note: nuts + seeds are so easy to add to almost every meal and are fabulous because they include so many essential nutrients including healthy fats + protein. here is a great chart I came across today.
if you don’t already take the time to prep your meals for the week I would highly recommend trying it out! you have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so try it out and let me know how you make out.
wishing you a fabulous day.
PS tomorrow I will include the recipe for these delicious choco-amaze-balls you see pictured above

My dear – you are a wonderful mommy to your beautiful baby. It was such a pleasure meeting her and spending time with all her awesome “aunties”!!! Your advance food prep is such a great way to get healthy meals and be organized – I admire you all!
Where do you buy your english muffins? Thanks
@Rosella – thank you SO much for such a lovely comment. Sloane was thrilled to be able to meet all of you, and I know she especially loved your snuggles
@Jenn – I buy the Ezekiel 4:9 (Food for Life products) and you can find these in the freezer section at most grocery stores and almost all health food stores.
