work it out + quote for your week

my first workout post-babe is COMPLETE!

planking for abs … hopefully ;)

I wanted to allow my body to recover from the pregnancy + delivery and not to feel pressured to get back to the gym right away. I attended some hot yoga classes of the last couple of weeks which I think was a great way to ease my way back into some movement. but last friday I had the urge and excitement to get back to the gym.

10 weeks old today

lets be serious – I took it easy. but 30 minutes of cardio (bike + elliptical) followed by a full body workout using mostly my own body weight, some abs + stretching felt amazing! thankfully I have lots of wonderful family around to look after little miss S so that the hubs + I were able to get to the gym together.

walking out of the gym I felt like a “normal” person again. I am sure that any mom’s out there will understand what I am saying. when your whole world has been consumed with feeding, changing diapers, house work, etc (which I LOVE – don’t get me wrong)…taking a couple hours to do something for me, that I love, feels unbelievably special!

I am going to aim for about 2 or 3 gym days a week in the coming weeks. wish me luck ;)

here is a great quote that I wanted to share with you today. I hope it will bring some clarity to your upcoming work week that I am sure is busy!
