I’m Natasha Bell, AKA ‘the healthy ginger’, and I am a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. This is my journey to whole + balanced living! I am just one health + wellness warrior, but I am so excited to be a part of a global shift towards healthy living. I hope to educate, motivate + inspire you to take control of your health.
who is ‘the healthy ginger’ you ask?
- I consider myself blessed to have grown up in a small farming community in Southwestern, Ontario. In my family, almost all of our meals were prepared from scratch, and in the summer, contained fresh produce from our own veggie garden. I am so thankful to this day to have been encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle and surrounded by families who lived off the land.
- Much of my childhood was spent outdoors exploring all that mother nature had to offer and any other spare time was spent playing as many competitive sports as my schedule allowed.
- Following high school, I went to college for Broadcast Journalism (Radio & Television) and worked in radio for just over three years as a morning show co-host in Timmins, Ontario, as well as a news anchor at an all news radio station in Toronto, Ontario.
- During these three years, I happened to fall in love (sigh), and this certainly changed my life’s course since my (now) husband is a Professional Hockey Player. His job has provided us with the most amazing opportunity to travel the globe. However, it made it difficult for me to hold down a job in journalism as we changed cities, countries, and even continents.
- In 2008 I decided to go back to school and pursue something that I am truly passionate about – FOOD + HEALTH! I enrolled at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Toronto, Ontario to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist.
- Since graduating from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2009 I have lived in Switzerland for two hockey seasons. This not only allowed us the amazing opportunity to travel, but also be influenced by all aspects of European culture. My husband and I settle into our country home in the off-season in a small community about 2 hours southwest of Toronto.
- In addition to founding ‘the healthy ginger’, I am also continuing my education to gain more knowledge and insight into the world of nutrition, personal training and various other aspects of health + wellness.
