top 5 fav young living essential oils

I love seeing all of your comments, messages and emails about your curiosity for essential oils. YEAH! I hope sharing my own essential oil journey will encourage you to find more natural alternative for the health of you and your family.

Up until a couple years ago I used lavender in my bath with Epsom salts to relax and lemon or lemongrass added to my laundry detergent … that was until I learned more about Young Living.

Quality oils will improve your physical and emotional wellbeing. Amazing!

Today I will share 5 of my go-to-every-darn-day favourite Young Living Essential oils.

Peppermint: This is my won’t-leave-home-without-it oil.

  • I use this as a fresh pick me up to start the day and mid afternoon when I need a little zing. I rub a couple drops on my temples, the back of my neck/brain stem or add it to a glass of water.
  • My husband loves this oil just as much as I do. Peppermint aids oxygen uptake in the brain and can improve athletic performance as well as soothe digestive discomfort.
  • It's also a go to in our house to fix headaches, muscle aches and pains and digestive upset.
  • This was also a lifesaver during my last pregnancy for the bit of nausea or acid reflux that I had. I would either put a drop under my tongue or rub a couple drops around my belly button.
  • In addition to a few other oils, I was able to help bring Sloane’s fever down a few months ago by re-applying to the bottoms of her feet and on her spine.

Thieves: The ultimate build up your immune system oil! It is a blend of 5 different oils {clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus radiate and rosemary} that is incredible for enhancing your immune system.

  • I always keep a few bottles on hand and use this to make antibacterial hand or all-purpose spray, diffuse to kill unwanted odors around the house, and add to my laundry detergent to help sanitize.
  • I put a couple drops on the bottom of Sloane’s feet each night to help keep her immune system working well, especially since she is now in preschool.
  • When I feel myself coming down with a cold or the sniffles I take a couple drops under my tongue {in addition to some of THESE other immune boosting tips}, diffuse and rub on the bottoms of my feet.

Lavender: I think this is the most versatile oil available. Lavender essential oil is helpful for all things skin related.

  • Soothes and cleanses cuts, bruises and other common skin irritations {DIY BABY WIPES HERE}.
  • It is also known to alleviate aches and pains and has been a savior for my husbands banged up hockey body. He had a huge bruise on his bicep after somehow pinching it up against the boards, I applied this with some other oils and it reduced swelling and recovery time.
  • Helps the body relax and unwind as well as promoting restful sleep and is great to diffuse or make a linen spray and spritz on your sheets before bed. I personally love to add a few drops to my Epsom Salt bath and add to my temples and the back of my neck before bed.

Peace & Calming: This oil blend gets a lot of attention when Sloane or I wear it, It smells incredible {tangerine, orange, ylang ylang, patchouli and blue tansy} and I love the benefits of it even more.

  • Peace & Calming is a part of our pre-school and pre-bedtime routine with Sloane. She is an energetic little being and this oil does a great job of helping take the “edge” off a bit by promoting relaxation and a sense of peace and grounding.

Deep Relief: This is another blend {peppermint, Idaho balsam fir, clove, vetiver, wintergreen, lemon, helichrysum and copaiba} that comes in a roll-on.

  • It is incredible for addressing common aches, pains, tension headaches and inflammation.
  • My husband says that this is his favourite oil to help him with joint and muscle discomfort from hockey.
  • I adore rolling this on my shoulders and neck that are often screaming from carrying a baby and toddler around.
